The only reason the pros are paying out the ass is because they’re paying players to trade them loot that drops so they can expedite what normal people will do over the course of weeks. It just takes a lot of time with a dedicated group of people. WoW you don’t need to be pay to win to actually kill the hardest tier raid. Which is stupidly unrealistic when a game has millions of players and people need to realize they’re just being duped. You’re right of course, but so much of the monetization driven by games now is to try and get people to compete and be top players. The great deception of gaming is the notion that the average player can be the best. What do you think about free to play games, Development outcomes, RMT, bots, regional pricing, and most importantly what you think can make the genera better for us all. RMT is a issues in all games and while I think the developers should establish xfer fees and waste to create more buisness costs for RMTers. So not only do the games have lower revenue, but their monetary system and player experience is under attack from the start.

While I don't support predatory practices what happens in these games is that companies end up competing with RMTers in ftp games which not only chokes development,destroys not only in game economies, but also player emersion in mmo worlds. Where in a free game I have zero investment and all profit which is a issue with regional pricing also. Even still I think that initial cost works as a dam to slow the flow. I personally believe that Real Money Traders are the cause for most of the ills in mmos, but it isn't like wow doesn't have armies of bots and RMTers. We agreed that we should save 15$ a month as anyone would, but how do we feel about it now? We have had these systems as primary monetization for years most games are free to play, but subscription mmos still at the top. So looking back on it now it seems like such a odd promotional phenomenon that we took it at face value. The odd thing is that ftp always existed not only in runescape and later runs of magic, but I have never played Korean grinder that I had to pay for. Just before Gw2 came out there were many promotions driving free to play as new monetization system as many games adopted these systems to try to pull players from World of Warcraft.
